wide release

Privacy policy

Effective date: 4 November 2026

Who we are

Wide Release (“we”, “us”) is based in the United States. We decide how your personal information is used in Wide Release and are responsible for it. You can reach us through our contact form.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address and name. Our sign-in provider, Clerk, holds these and sends the one-time codes you sign in with.
  • The waitlist: the email address you give us.
  • Connected social accounts (TikTok now, Instagram and Facebook later): the platform's id for your account, your username, display name and profile picture, the access and refresh tokens the platform gives us, which we store encrypted, and the permissions you granted.
  • What you post: the caption and the settings you choose. The video goes to the platform; we don't keep a copy.
  • Messages you send us: what you write in our contact form, with your email address so we can reply, and your name if you give it.
  • Technical logs: our hosting provider records IP addresses, browser details and times of requests, which we use to keep Wide Release secure.
  • Page views: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't identify you or track you across sites.

How we use it

Only to run Wide Release: to sign you in, to post what you ask to the accounts you choose, to show you how each post did, and to contact you about the service or your place on the waitlist.

Data we receive from TikTok and Meta is used only to provide the features you use, and never to train AI models.

We don't sell or share your personal information, as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines those words, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.

Who we share it with

  • Our service providers, who handle data for us under contract: Clerk, Inc. for sign-in, Vercel Inc. for hosting, and Neon for our database.
  • TikTok and Meta receive what you choose to post to them. They are independent controllers of that data under their own policies: the TikTok privacy policy and the Meta privacy policy.
  • No one else, unless the law requires it.

Where your data is

Wide Release and its providers operate in the United States. If you use Wide Release from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

Security

We encrypt the tokens platforms give us, use encrypted connections throughout, and limit who can reach your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours.

How long we keep it

  • Your account: until you delete it.
  • Tokens and profile details for a connected account: until you disconnect that account or delete yours.
  • Your waitlist email: until you're invited or ask to be removed.
  • Contact form messages: until your request is resolved, then 12 more months.
  • Technical logs: for a limited period, then they are deleted by our hosting provider.

Disconnecting and deleting your data

  • Disconnect a social account from Accounts in your Wide Release dashboard. We revoke our access with the platform and delete that account's tokens and profile details.
  • You can also remove Wide Release in TikTok's, Instagram's or Facebook's own app settings, then tell us through our contact form and we'll delete the data we held for that account.
  • To delete everything, send a “Delete my data” request through our contact form, using the email address on your account. We delete your data within 30 days and confirm when it's done.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use our contact form and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, such as California, the EU or the UK, you may have further rights under local law, and we'll honor them. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Do Not Track

We don't track you across other websites and we don't use advertising trackers. Our page-view counts are anonymous and cookie-free, so we treat every visit the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Children

Wide Release isn't meant for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, tell us through our contact form and we'll delete it.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we email account holders first.
